NEFU improved its position in the National University Ranking

On June 3, the results of the National University Ranking 2014-2015 were announced. This year North-Eastern Federal University made six positions up and took the 32nd position.

In 2010, when the university received the status of federal, NEFU took the 60 to 63 position in the ranking. Five years later, the university improved its position, taking the 32 position.

"The universities activities were estimated on six main criteria: educational activity, research activity, the social environment of the university, internationalization and international activities of the university, the university brand, innovation and entrepreneurship. The evaluation was conducted on the basis of survey data, made by universities’ representatives, available public data on their official websites, public data of the RF Ministry of Education and Science, including information from the database of SPARK and SCAN", NEFU Department for Strategic Development reported.

According to experts, NEFU promotion is a testament of the effectiveness of measures, used to transform the university, extending the range of educational programs, enhancing the quality of students, organization of work with educational institutions, increase of quality and efficiency of university communications with target audiences.

Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov is still at the top of the National University Ranking. The National Research Nuclear University of MEPI took the second place, the third - Moscow National Research Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). In total, the National University Ranking 2014-2015 included more than 200 Russian universities.

The National University Ranking is formed by “Interfax” and “Echo of Moscow”. The main purpose of this project is to develop mechanisms and procedures for an independent evaluation of Russian universities and educational programs, improving of the competitiveness of the Russian education system in the world educational and research areas.
