“G20” Youth Forum: NEFU student represented Russia

G20 Youth Forum was held in Germany from April 29 to May 3. Valery Petrov, master student of NEFU Institute of Foreign Philology and Regional Studies (IFPRS), represented Russia in the role of the Minister of Labour and Social Protection at the summit.

Student represented Russia at the summit, as well as organized a round table at the joint sessions on the problem of perception of happiness in different countries. "Our task was to find a universal happiness formula, which would be applicable to all cultures. Despite the utopian nature of the idea, we tried to create a formula combining all the factors of ordinary human happiness. It has been a long and stormy discussion, as a result of which we have created a table of universal values and factors of happiness and determined our version of the happiness formula, which will be directed to the discussion of G20 leaders and non-governmental organizations", Valery Petrov, IFPRS master student majoring in Arctic Research, said.

The Forum was held during five days and was divided into several platforms: G20 Youth Summit, Conference, Young Parliamentarians’ Debate and Joint Sessions.
