North-Eastern Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov celebrates its fifth anniversary of establishment on April 2. The Federal University was established by the Government of the Russian Federation in 2010 on the basis of Yakutsk State University. Solemn events will be held this day.

Aleksandr Klimov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Chairman of NEFU Supervisory Board, and Viktor Sadovnichy, the Rector of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, president of the Russian Union of Rectors, congratulated university on the fifth anniversary.

Aleksandr Klimov wrote in his greeting that the five-year anniversary is not only the result of the most significant achievements, but also a count of new round of development. "NEFU staff successfully deals with its mission - the formation and development of a competitive society of the Far Eastern Federal District, as well as providing highly qualified personnel, new technical, scientific and technological solutions", the Deputy Minister said.

"Your university is one of the fast-growth educational institutions, a major educational and scientific center in the North-East of Russia. Success achieved by your team is well-founded, created by several generations of teachers, scientists and staff of higher education institutions and research institutions that are included in the modern structure of the university", the Rector Viktor Sadovnichy said.

On April 2, the University held a solemn meeting of the staff, devoted to the five-year anniversary. The event will be held at the Cultural Center "Sergelyakhskie Ogni" at 5:00 p.m. with participation of top officials of the republic and partners of the university.
