North-Eastern Federal University ranked 427th place in the international ranking of the best universities in the world Global World Communicator (GWC) "Worldwide Professional University Rankings RankPro 2014/2015". Ammosov University entered the group of leading universities in the program of professional ranking due to a good position on the academic opportunities offered to students, and the information content of Internet resources of the university.

"There are 26 Russian universities among the top 500 best universities in the world by Global World Communicator. Traditionally, Moscow State University took high positions - the 37th position, Novosibirsk State University the 43rd position and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology at the 77th place", NEFU Department of Strategic Development reported.

NEFU took part in the study for the first time and entered the top 500 universities in the world, ranking 427th position in the global competition and the 16th position among Russian universities. The ranking also includes such well-known Russian universities as NRU "Higher School of Economics", Saint Petersburg State University, Ural, Southern, Far Eastern, Kazan and Siberian Federal Universities.

Ranking evaluates more than thousands of the best universities in the world according to criteria such as academic opportunities, informative internet resources, the reputation of the university among the experts.

Leading American universities entered the top five, as in other international rankings: Caltech, MIT, Yale, Harvard and Stanford. The top ten also included Zurich University of Technology (Switzerland), Cambridge and Oxford Universities (UK), Chicago and Columbia Universities (USA).
