NEFU Rector was elected as the member of the Russian Academy of Education

On February 26, the General Meeting of the Russian Academy of Education was held, during which the report of the Academy’s president for 2014 and long-term tasks of the Academy were considered, including the election of members. According to the results of voting, NEFU Rector Evgenia Mikhailova was included in the number of RAE members.

Election of the members of the Russian Academy of Education was held in the following branches: the philosophy of education and theoretical pedagogy, psychology and age physiology, general secondary education, education and culture, vocational training. 26 candidates representing the leading scientific and educational centers of the country have been nominated on seven vacancies in branches. According to experts, a number of strong leading Russian scientists were nominated. According to the President of the Academy Lyudmila Verbitskaya, each of the candidates is a "significant personality in Russian education."

NEFU Academic Council nominated Evgenia Mikhailova in the branch of vocational education. It should be noted that four candidates have been nominated in this scientific direction, who are well-known Russian developers of modern concepts and learning technologies, the organizers of higher education, vocational education experts. Leading scientists of the country noted the important role of Evgenia Mikhailova in the development of general and higher education in the country, the formation of the modern system of the Russian vocational education. Speaking in the debate, Academicians Evgeny Tkachenko, Aleksandr Kiselev, Aleksandr Nikitin, Lyubov Kezina, Elena Gevorkyan, Aleksandr Tikhonov, Irena Robert, Anatoly Tayursky, Svetlana Chistyakova and other RAE's members noted the contribution of NEFU Rector to the development of scientific and pedagogical foundations for the preparation of future teachers, leadership role in the modernization of Russian education. Following the results of the secret ballot, where 86 RAE’s members took part, Evgenia Mikhailova was elected for the member of the Russian Academy of Education in the branch of vocational education in the first round by a considerable margin.

Professor of Moscow State Pedagogical University Aleksandr Dzhurinsky, MEPI Rector Mikhail Strikhanov, MSU professor Vyacheslav Ivannikov, scientific director of Tyumen State University Gennady Kutsev and Head of the Laboratory of the Institute of Education Management RAE Anatoly Tsirulnikov became RAE members in other scientific fields.
