Examination and all the necessary procedures does a nurse or paramedic, and the doctor decides on the treatment on-line, being hundreds of kilometers away. "Key areas of the system use: insult, intensive care, cardiology, trauma, pediatrics, neonatology, psychiatry, remote emergency, patients round, translating to foreign patients, clinical care and supervision in surgery", said Head of the Nursing Department of NEFU Medical Institute Nikolay Diachkovsky.

"In March 2014, a delegation of NEFU Medical Institute teachers took part in the international forum of the University of Saskatchewan “The use of remote technologies in the field of health", where they discussed the robot introduction of remote presence technology in the North. After negotiations, the Nursing Department of NEFU Medical Institute received an official offer from the Canadian party to participate in the development and implementation of the joint international project. In 2014, we won a grant for the purchase of Xpress Pac Robot. He was handed to NEFU Nursing Department for the educational process and practical assistance to nurses of the republic", Nikolay Diachkovsky said.

Currently, there are three robots with remote technology in Yakutia: one in the Republican hospital №2 - the Center for Emergency Medical Care, the other robot at NEFU Medical Institute, the third - in the national flying doctor service.
