Students of NEFU Medical institute will perform surgery in real time. The XPRESS PAC robot was presented.

Professors of medicine from Canada will be able to carry out online lectures to students of NEFU Medical institute. Yesterday, on October 28, in Medical clinic of NEFU there passed the presentation of the new XPRESS PAC robot from "Intouch health" firm.

"We hope that with that robot scientists of University Saskatchewan will be able to give lectures for our students online. Now our students actively learn English", – the director of NEFU Medical institute Palmyra Petrova speaks. The robot is used in the emergency medicine, sanitary aircraft, in ambulance cars and for training of students. During presentation the representative of the "Intouch health" company Vasily Nikolayenko showed possibilities of the robot: the doctor can examine the patient, being in the office, to make round of patients of any point of the earth and to help during operation. For connection it will need the high-speed Internet and the laptop.

The North-Eastern federal university jointly with University Saskatchewan developed the international project on introduction of technology of the remote presence at education and practice of health workers of the North. Thanks to this project the grant was won and the robotic system is acquired.
